Hanami
Sakura (cherry blossoms) will be in full bloom early April in Tokyo.
Hanami is the Japanese traditional custom of enjoying the beauty of flowers and people eat “bento” and drink alcohols under the trees.
Every television and newspapers share the blossom forecast early March each year, which shows how hanami is a cherished annual event for the whole nation.
The current forecast predicts sakura will bloom a bit late than usual years this year. Everybody is very much looking forward to seeing Sakura.
The attached photos were taken last April when my family visited Tokyo Midtown (Roppongi) for hanami. You can see my wife’s Great bento!
