Hanami - another way to enjoy (for the next year)

Belatedly, let me introduce another way to enjoy cherry blossoms - please take this FYI for the next year :-)

Yakata-Bune is the traditionally shaped smallish boat to go up and down the river. There are a few boat operators in Tokyo and one of them is in the canal near Shinagawa station. It has become sort of tradition for us to take this boat this season.

Lunch is served and you can go out to the deck during the 3-4 hours cruise. The river is always crowded with those boats which go up to Asakusa area. Both banks of the river are full of the trees and it is quite a view!

Hope you find time to experience the ride next year. BUT, the boat cruise is always available - the next popular season will be the Hanabi view from the boat, which is actually far more popular that Hanami (much harder to take reservation and more expensive.....).

Hope this give you another interesting idea to enjoy Tokyo.
