Why “Senpai”?
In Japanese, a senpai is typically described as an elder–someone senior to you in age or position. At Deep Japan, however, we see senpai as a mentor–someone who shares their wisdom to spark curiosity, inspiration and growth in others. In our kind of mentorship, ideas flow both ways, with the senpai not only guiding but also learning along the way.
