Located on the 7th floor of one of Shibuya’s many buildings, Tokyo Kichi may be a little challenging to find at first but I assure you, the food makes up for the time you might spend wandering.
The warm-colored lights, leather chairs and wooden features create a welcoming yet funky atmosphere that would match any kind of casual occasion.
Invited by the rich, cheesy aroma wafting in from the kitchen, I opted for the carbonara risotto. The bacon bites added the perfect amount of salty umami to the creamy rice, and everything was perfectly complemented by the hanjuku tamago (soft-boiled egg) oozing with beautiful orange goodness.
Tokyo Kichi typically offers around 10 different risotto types at any given time, with some of their menu items changing monthly.
