Crazy about roller coasters? Then Fuji-Q Highland is a MUST

Just under 2 hours from Tokyo Station by bus, Fuji-Q Highland is one of Japan’s most popular amusement parks and world-renowned for its record-breaking rides. For example, the Do-Dompa was the world’s fastest and (even now the) fastest-accelerating roller coaster when it opened in 2001, with a maximum speed of 180 kilometers per hour achieved in just the first 1.56 seconds. With a maximum drop angle of 121 degrees, Takabisha is one of the steepest roller coasters in the world and Eejanaika holds the Guiness World Record for the fastest 4th dimension roller coaster (where riders are rotated independently of the track’s orientation).

The list goes on but it doesn’t end with roller coasters.

There is a two-story former hospital-turned haunted house that stretches over 900 meters that takes approximately 50 minutes to complete, making it the world’s longest and one of the scariest horror attractions to ever exist. You are set loose to explore the dark halls and creepy rooms (overrun by zombies and ghosts, of course) with a small flashlight. It is not for the faint of heart…be warned!
