Founded in 1905, Donq is my favorite chain bakery found across Japan in department stores and stations.
I’m not much of a sweet tooth so I always get either their baguette or calzone, but if you’re looking for a dessert pastry, I would recommend their signature melon bread. It’s a flat sweet bun with sugar crystals embedded on the exterior for a delightfully sweet crunch in every bite.
Especially when they’re breads are freshly-baked and straight out of the oven…it’s simply irresistible!
