We wont be posting in May but we will be back 2

Hi there! I first came to Japan from Canada in 1992 on a one-year working holiday visa—but that year quickly turned into a lifelong connection. Tokyo has been my home ever since, and I couldn’t imagine living anywhere else.

For 12 years, I worked as a lecturer at The University of Tokyo’s Graduate School of Medicine. Eventually, I decided to take on a new challenge and founded Tailor Made, Inc., a business dedicated to providing English-related services to a market that is becoming increasingly global.

One of the things I’ve always appreciated about Japan is the warmth and professionalism of its people. From office workers who take pride in their job to shop staff who greet every customer with a cheerful irasshaimase (welcome), and the remarkable punctuality of both individuals and systems, Japan is a country driven by a strong work ethic and attention to detail.

Looking back on the past three decades, I’m grateful for the experiences I’ve had and excited for what’s to come.

“Japan is like a finely tuned system that never stops—and never fails to amaze me.”
