Vegan in Tokyo? Falafel Brothers is a must

Japan is the land of endless variations of delicious tofu, but sometimes you just want to sink your teeth into something burger-like and protein-packed. In Japan, veggie burgers and other TVP (textured vegetable protein) based faux-meat products are pretty hard to find, so when the craving gets overwhelming, I head over to any one of the four branches of the funky, casual and all-vegan Falafel Brothers (Roppongi, Shibuya Parco, Otemachi and Harajuku), depending on which is closest to me.

While their freshly-fried falafels are absolutely delicious, I highly recommend their signature ‘Vega-Niku’ burger (currently available at their Roppongi and Shibuya Parco stores but double check the menu before your visit just in case). If you’re going with a couple of friends, I urge you to get their hummus plate with pita to share (it’s difficult to come by great hummus in Japan)!
