As someone who rarely eats meat, I’m always on the lookout for vegetarian-friendly restaurants, and Umenohana in Yokohama’s Sky Building is one of my favorites.

This restaurant specializes in tofu and yuba–a thin layer or “skin” that forms on the surface of soy milk when it is boiled. These protein-packed ingredients are creatively incorporated in several small-portioned dishes, which showcases just how versatile they are.

I recommend visiting during lunch hours because the menu gets pricier at night.
