Once the tallest freestanding structure in the world upon its completion in 1958, Tokyo Tower remains one of Japan’s most iconic landmarks. While the newer Tokyo Skytree may surpass it in height, the Eiffel Tower-inspired, 333-meter, red and white tower holds a special place in the hearts of all Tokyoites.
The combination of Tokyo Tower’s central location, dazzling views from the Top Deck, and charming shopping, dining, and entertainment complex at the base, makes it worth visiting any time of the year.
Lastly…did you know that the entire exterior of Tokyo Tower is repainted about every 7 years with brushes all by hand!? This process takes about one year to complete…incredible!
