Lost in Tokyo Station? It’s OKAY, help is everywhere!

If it’s your first time in Tokyo Station, you may feel a little intimidated. With more than 4,000 trains arriving and departing, accompanied by a flow of approximately 500,000 passengers on average per day, no wonder internationals (even locals sometimes) get lost! But no worries. Even if it may take some time, you will definitely get to your destination safely because help is everywhere.

In addition to the English signs and ticket machines, places like the JR EAST Travel Service Center (located outside the Marunouchi North Exit ticket gate), Japan Rail Cafe Tokyo, and any of the seven information counters across the station have friendly English-speaking staff ready to help. Even if you can’t find the information desks, every ticket gate usually has several station staff available. You may have to wait in line and they may not be fluent in English, but they will do their best to assist you.
