Hi, I’m Judith Mikami originally from Auckland, New Zealand. I came to Japan over 30 years ago to experience a culture and country very different from my homeland. Like many who have ventured to Japan, I fell in love with the people, culture and places, and before I knew it, I would meet my husband. I have lived only in Okayama Prefecture and call this area my home away from home.
Okayama has played an important role in the historical, cultural and economic development of this country but like most of regional Japan, it is a hidden treasure. Through Deep Japan, I hope to contribute to a better and deeper understanding of this complex and beautiful country.
My love for Japan only deepens each day I get to spend time with family and friends, learning, laughing and making memories.
