Sumo’s 2,000-year legacy: Feel the power in Tokyo!

Literally one of humanity’s oldest sports, sumo is a Japanese style of wrestling that is renowned around the world. However, a tidbit most people don’t know is that matches only happen in certain months. In Tokyo, only three tournaments take place every year, namely, in January, May and September. If you’re around Tokyo any one of these months, I highly recommend grabbing a ticket to immerse yourself in the powerful and culturally significant ancient sport at Ryogoku Kokugikan–the premier sumo hall that seats over 10,000 spectators.
